The People (and Pets) Behind The Campaign
Our Founder: Dr. Amanda
-
Dr. Amanda is a Family Physician, an award-winning community leader, and a present Breast Cancer patient. Her experience as both a healthcare provider and someone directly affected by cancer shaped the vision for PAWS UP for the Cure. The campaign reflects her belief in the power of compassion, storytelling, and the human-animal bond to inspire healing.

Our Ambassador: Rosie
-
Rosie is a two-year-old rescue pug with hearing and vision impairments. When her human began treatment for Breast Cancer, Rosie became a source of unwavering comfort, walking beside her when she had strength, resting when she didn’t, and offering quiet companionship during moments of fear, fatigue, and uncertainty. Rosie is now the lead ambassador for PAWS UP for the Cure, representing the many pets who provide emotional strength during illness and recovery.
Our Advocates and Partners
-
Nancy McFatter, Founder-President, Kidomo, long-time volunteer and corporate partner, is a driving force behind the campaign’s community outreach and strategic growth. Her advocacy continues to open doors and build bridges.
-
Kelly Ranieri, Owner, Bark & Main, a Canadian small business, partnered with Dr. Amanda to design and produce the limited-edition “PAWS UP” dog bandana, an emblem of solidarity worn by participating dogs.
-
Kidomo and RioCan have joined the campaign to provide event production, venues, and promotional support.
